Our chefs are excited to bring Vietnamese, Laotian and Thai cuisine to the Porter's Neck area. We want to share our asian food with you in hopes that it brings you comfort, happiness and tasty nourishment.
Pho Vanhly has been a long time dream of Mone Somsnith and was inspired by and named in honor of her mother, Vanhly. Pho Vanhly basically means "mom's soup." The smell of the fragrant noodle soup reminds her of the smells from her mother's kitchen growing up.
“I want people to try and see how each country’s flavors are different,” she said. “Thai food has a strong flavor; Japanese is light. Vietnamese is in between. I like people to try them out, enjoy them, love them. That’s my goal. It makes me very happy to give that to my friends and customers. I feel blessed that I can make their days happy; it gives me a lot of energy, so I don’t feel tired.” - Mone
Oye is from the city of Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand. She has two children and loves cooking for her family. Her favorite dishes to eat include noodles. She loves working with traditional dishes from her country and is excited to share her recipes for Pho with the Port City community. In addition to her Pho, she is well known in Wilmington for her delectable cakes, particularly her coconut cake and pineapple cake.
Our chef, Kay, is from Samut Songkhram, Thailand. She said the inspiration behind her love of cooking comes from her mother and the food she made growing up. She credits her mother with her business sense as well, and is so excited to be serving up her traditional dishes to the Wilmington community. She is mom to her fur-baby, Kiki, a spunky little Corgi. Her favorite dish is Nem Khao Tod. While she loves serving up great food, she likes to ensure her food is colorful and a full of flavor!
